Strength in unity

The exhibition industry in Poland is a significant driving force of the economy. The period of the pandemic contributed to enormous losses of the exhibition industry, which were noticeable immediately after the information about the first case of COVID-19 in our country was given. The whole sector of trade fair and congress events stopped holding its breath in anticipation of the negative effects of the global situation. The beginning of the pandemic brought losses to the industry of nearly 150 million PLN per month. At present, it is about 800 million PLN.

The value of the fair market in 2019 was estimated at 3-4 billion zlotys, while revenues to the state budget from taxes paid by the organizers of fair events were estimated at about 500 million zlotys. The employment at the level of 500 thousand people was also significant.

All this not only gives food for thought, but above all it mobilizes the main players of the fair market in Poland to activities leading to the return of large trade fair events.
The current situation of the trade fair industry and its future was the subject of a meeting of the leaders of the largest trade fair organizations in Poland. The meeting was held in Kielce and they participated in it: Andrzej Mochoń, President of the Kielce Trade Fair, Tomasz Kobierski, President of the Poznań International Fair and Tomasz Szypuła, President of PTAK WARSAW EXPO.

Joint action will contribute to real help for the Polish economy and thousands of companies for which the fair is the main contracting tool and stimulus for expansion. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the importance of the fair for macro and micro regions, also in the context of all the companies that benefit from the events organized by the fair centers.
